Chapter 10
Sidney’s POV
Ok so tonight is the night…date night. I didn’t think that it was possible to be more excited about finally having an actual conversation with her but this date topped just about everything, not winning the cup nothing could beat that, but this date was up there.
“Dude hopefully you won’t spill anything on her tonight” said Max. God they won’t let that go…it only happened once and I have since learned to let the waiter open up the wine. But what if I do screw up I mean Hadley has been through so much and I am sure I don’t even know the half of it, I hope to find out but I have to get past the first date first then maybe if I’m lucky I will get to spend more time with her. It’s then that I realize that Talbo is still talking about all the things that could go wrong….someone remind me why I let him come over while I was getting ready…he doesn’t do relationships..which is something I would like with Hadley.
“OK Talbo I GOT IT…DON’T SCREW UP” I said to him and then returned to my thoughts about a possible relationship with Hadley. I would seriously be the luckiest guy ever. Now I got to get through this date without screwing it up royally.
“What’s wrong Darryl? Nervous?” Max said laughing at me because now apparently I’m pacing around my living room with way to many thoughts in my head for my own good.
“DAMN RIGHT IM NERVOUS AND YOU ARE NOT HELPING THE SITUATION.” I practically screamed at him.
“Ok man, your going to do fine. From what Jordy has told me she’s been through a lot so the fact that she is willing to go out with you means something…DON’T THINK TOO MUCH…just go with it” Max told me.
“Just go with it…” o what the hell it can’t go any worse in my head…can it???
---------------------------
Hadley’s POV
Ok I took the first step to something that I think could be very good for me. I agreed to a date with Sidney. But now I am thinking a lot. What if he just asked to ask to be nice….What if there is no future in this. I know a little bit ahead of myself but I always think into the future that is what I do and have always done. Just like my dad.
He wanted me to be happy and have all my dreams come true and for the most part they have but not my dreams involving my heart. O who am I kidding this is only the first date..nothing is going to come from this I shouldn’t get my hopes up.
“I DON’T KNOW WHAT THE HELL I WAS THINKING I CANT DO THIS…” I yelled to the whole room even though Katy was the only one there
“OK YES YOU CAN…THIS IS GOOD….YOU BEING NERVOUS LIKE THIS” she yelled back at me to get my attention. I just looked at her like she was nuts. She pushed me down into the chair so she could finish my hair. I had wanted it wavy and couldn’t do it myself.
“Hear me out. You are nervous because you like him…which is good. You are moving on and it is ok that you like someone other than that douche Felix. Sidney is good for you.. He is the perfect gentlemen, he is fun to be around. And let’s not forget about the BIGGEST THING…you were comfortable enough to tell him about Felix…YOU HAVENT TOLD ANYONE ABOUT THAT…well besides me. You are comfortable around him…so go have a good time see where it goes and be open to more. Hadley you can do this ….you DESERVE this. OK I am done, and you are ready for your date.” Katy said and fell onto the bed out of breath.
She always gave me just what I needed to hear even if I didn’t want it at the time. I HOPE she is right and this, he is good for me.
----------------------------------
Before she knew it; it was 7pm and the buzzer was going off to say that he was here…it was now or never. With that Hadley walked out into the living room after attempting to give herself her own pep-talk in the bathroom. When she saw Sidney standing there she couldn’t help but smile because she saw he was just as nervous as she was which was oddly calming to her.
“Hi, you look beautiful” Sidney said as he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek.
“Hi, you’re not looking so bad yourself.” Hadley said surprised at herself for actually saying something like that. She had never even talked to Felix like that.
“You kids have a good time now…Don’t bring her back to late.” Katy said not being able to help herself much to the dismay of Hadley as Sidney just laughed and opened up the door for her.
The date was on.
Sidney took her to a little Italian restaurant that he loved to go to. As he was walking into the restaurant he remembered this was where the wine debacle had happened and silently hoped that tonight would go so much better because he couldn’t keep the possibilities of a future with her out of his head. Hopefully she was thinking along the same lines of a possible relationship.
They went to a back table so they could have some privacy.
“Would you like me to open your wine….” the waiter asked as he brought back their waters and wine they had selected from the list. Sidney didn’t wait for the waiter to finish.
“Open it” he quickly said hoping that Hadley wouldn’t pick up on his nervousness. The waiter quickly opened the wine and left them to finish looking over the menu.
“So is there a story to that” Hadley asked because she saw how fast he answered and then chuckled when she saw him blush a little bit.
“Well yea the last time I was here I spilled wine all over someone when I wanted to try and open it myself” he quickly said but calmed down a little bit when Hadley just smiled at him. She wasn’t laughing at him like everyone else had…well at least not as hard.
“Well I’m sure Katy’s shirt thanks you then” she said and Sidney couldn’t help but laugh a little bit. That was the first time that he had been able to laugh about that because it was so embarrassing.
The rest of dinner went by great. They didn’t have any of those first date awkward silences.
They had such a calm and constant conversation and Hadley loved it. That didn’t even happen with Felix. At that point she knew she couldn’t even compare Sidney and Felix…they were so different and Sidney was well pretty much perfect. She hadn’t felt so comfortable in she didn’t know how long and she hoped Sidney felt the same way.
Before long the waiter came over and told them that it was almost 12 and the restaurant was closing they had closed the place down for the second time in a week.
As they were driving back to Hadley’s apartment she saw two lines of lights going up a mountain.
“What’s that” she asked hoping Sidney would know.
“O that is the incline. The view is great up there.”“I’m sure…we should go sometime.” Hadley said then the more she thought about it “ well that is if you would like to. We don’t have’….” but Sidney cut her off.
“Of course we can go….maybe it can be like another date.” He said nervously but she just smiled and nodded.
Before long they were back at the apartment. He got out and opened her door. They both were a little disappointed that the night was over. “I have training camp starting and I’ll be pretty busy but I would love to take you to the incline when I can..” he said as he was rubbing his neck like he always did when he was nervous, he was hoping that his busy schedule wouldn’t be a deal breaker.
“Ok that sounds like a plan. Hopefully we can still talk in between then though” Hadley said then regretted it because she thought she sounded desperate. Sidney just smile and nodded. It was then that he looked right into her eyes and he couldn’t help himself, he leaned down and softly planted his lips to hers.
She was surprised to say the least but it was a pleasant surprise and she quickly returned the kiss.
“Goodnight Hadley” he said and started walking backwards toward the elevator as she put the key into the deadbolt to let herself in. Neither of them could wipe the smile off of thier faces.

Chapter 9
Soon enough Hadley and Katy had to leave to go back to work. The fall was their busiest time of year and Hadley was looking forward to it but her mind kept wandering elsewhere when she was at home alone.
Hadley’s POV
Canada was just what I needed. It was so much fun but so peaceful at the same time. It was the first time since I haven’t thought about Felix and what he was doing or who he was with. Part of that maybe because my mind kept wandering back to Sidney but I just don’t know. I thought that after I got up the nerve to talk to him everything would be fine and my life would go back to normal but still a week later I can’t stop thinking about him. I don’t know if I can put my heart on the line like that again. I put everything I had into Felix and my relationship and he just threw it away along with my heart. But then again I didn’t think I would ever talk about it again and that is the first conversation that I had with Sidney so even if I did take that chance would it even matter, after that story he probably doesn’t want anything to do with me and then when he hears about my family the deal will be done then. Wait a minute why am I thinking like this I can’t do it, I can’t be with Sidney Crosby….or can I….well if he wants me…maybe I should try and see what happens.
- - - - - - - -
After a long day at work Hadley just wanted to go home and try to relax for the night. It had been really stressful at work with the new accounts that had been opened since she returned from Canada but on top of that she couldn’t stop thinking about Sidney…she had decided that she wasn’t going to shut herself off of any possibility. She had come to that conclusion the night before while she was watching her dad’s favorite movie, she always did that on special days like his birthday, or the anniversary of when they found out he had died. Her dad would have wanted her to move on and be happy…and that was what she was determined to do ever since she was 15 and she got the news…but she hadn’t been doing that lately.
As she walked up to her and Katy’s apartment she saw a note attached to the door. She was surprised that the note was for her.
“How bout that Stanley Cup conversation???” she couldn’t help but smile when she finished reading the note. He remembered what she had said to him when she left him on the dock the night of his birthday. It was almost three weeks later. He must be back for the season or something she thought because she remembered that Katy said Jordan was coming back soon too. When she opened the door she realized how soon. Her free hand flew to her eyes
“OH MY GOD KATY…” before Katy could finish screaming and trying to apologize Hadley was turned around and back out the door. She had walked in on Katy and Jordan going at it on the couch. They couldn’t even make it to Katy’s room. She was embarrassed and she didn’t want to stick around to see what either of them were going to see. So decided to be brave and just call Sidney.
It rang a couple of times and he finally picked up. “Hello”
“Ummm hi Sidney it’s Hadley I was just calling about the note you left on my door” she asked unsure of herself.
“O yeah I’m glad you got it I just dropped it off I tried to knock but the TV was on and no one answered.”
“O yeah umm Katy was ummm busy” she said laughing thinking about what she had just witnessed.
“ Ok, you’ll have to tell me what is so funny when we get together for the Stanley Cup talk. Well if you are still interested that is…if not it’s ok” he said now suddenly unsure if he made the right move he didn’t need her freaking out again.”
“Yeah I’m still interested if you don’t mind…”Hadley answered.
“Of course, I’m still close to your place I will just turn around and be over there” he said she could tell that he was excited and so was she another recent first for her.
“OK but we are gonna have to go somewhere I don’t want to go back to the apartment at the moment” she said again laughing and wondering if they stopped to move it elsewhere even though she was going to have to buy a new couch now.
“See you in a few” he said and then hung up.
No sooner had Hadley sat down on the bench next to the apartment Sidney showed up.
“Hi” “Hi there” how was work he asked.
“Today it was work” Hadley answered “But I love my job my dad got me hooked on advertising” she said but as soon as the words came out she tensed up and he must have realized because he changed the subject.
“So is there a reason you don’t want to go into your apartment right now” Sidney asked..
“YUP… I have no desire to see Jordan’s naked ass on my couch” Hadley told him and started laughing at the same time. She knew she should be mad and she was at first but now all she could do was laugh at it because if he could keep going after that then well good for Katy at least one of them should be getting some attention.
Sidney just laughed along with her and said that he understood but he couldn’t just escape it because of the locker room he had become immune to it.
“Are you hungry” he asked her after they finished laughing and Jordan and Katy’s offense
“Actually yes I would love to go eat something and hear about this cup you boys are so fascinated with” as she said this and looked over at Sidney she saw this gleam in his eye when she mentioned the cup and she thought it must be really important.
They found a nice little diner that had everything under the sun to eat. They sat in the back of the diner so they could have some privacy as Sidney put it. They had a great dinner and he told her all about the cup and how it is such a big deal to win it. After that Hadley understood why the Stanley Cup was so important and she found herself glad that it was in Pittsburgh… they closed the diner down at 2 in the morning.
As they were pulling back up the apartment they kept talking about hockey and Hadley seemed excited she could really get into the game.
“I had a really great time tonight Hadley” he said as he pulled up to her door.“I did too. I think you made another hockey fan” she said and laughed a little when he got this big smile on his face.
“Can I ask you something” he said
“Sure”
“ I know you told me about Felix and everything but I was hoping that maybe I could take you out sometime like on a real date” he asked rubbing his the back of his neck because he was nervous and he was scared to death he did just what he didn’t want to do….scare her away again.
"Ummm" Hadley had to pause for a minute to breath and remember not to shut herself off from the possibilites of life and well this was one of them. Sidney looked so nervous she could tell that he had really thought about this and that he didn't want to hurt her at all so with that being said she decided to take a chance.
"Sure Sidney we can do that." she said and she couldnt help but smile because at that same moment she realized that she could do it...she could move on with her life. Sidney got his huge smile back and now it was his turn to kiss her on the cheek and tell her goodnight.

Chapter 8
“Hey Hadley..you really should have come with us” Katy said as she walked back into the apartment around 2am a couple of days after the get together and the dreaded question.
“Have you been sitting here the whole time” she continued.
“Uhh yea I guess I have been. I lost track of time” Hadley said.
“OK, you have been spacing out way to much lately, what’s up”
Hadley knew she couldn’t keep anything from Katy especially since they had gotten so close in the past month or so. “ I asked Vero if Sidney had a girlfriend.” Hadley whispered hoping that Katy didn’t hear her completely but at least she had made an attempt to tell her.
“OH MY GOSH!!!!! I KNEW IT…” Katy screamed.
“Katy its not like tha..”Hadley insisted to herself as much as she was telling her roommate.
“Oh no that isn’t going to fly. You have to come to his birthday party this weekend?” Katy said
“I’m not going to get out of this am I?” Hadley asked
“NOPE” Katy laughed “Pack your bags we’re going to Cole Harbour”
"Where the hell is that??? Hadley asked
"Canada" Katy said laughing and went to start packing.
“CANADA” Hadley screamed “Katy really…I’m just gonna look…” Hadley started.
“We are friends with the team and I was invited and so you were you. So go pack we leave in the morning” Katy said
“It is morning” Hadley laughed as she walked passed Katy and into her own room…
--------Later that Day----------
They landed in Cole Harbour later that day with Jordan and some of the other guys from the team for the private party Sidney was throwing after all of the Stanley Cup festivities which Hadley still didn’t completely understand. She decided that she had to find out more about this Stanley Cup business.
Soon they pulled through a gate and up to Sidney’s house.
“Wow this place is gorgeous” Hadley said and then thought to herself just like the guy.
Sidney wasn’t there when they arrived but the door was open but some of the other guys had already arrived.
Hadley and Katy were shown around the house and then to a room so they could put their stuff down and get ready for Sidney’s party to celebrate the birthday and the rest of his time with the cup. Hadley again took longer than usual to get ready because she wanted to look good. She had talked herself into actually having a conversation with Sidney before the end of the night.
Before she knew it the party was starting but it was starting without Sidney because he hadn’t gotten back from his last appearance for the night. Sidney showed up a little bit later to enjoy the rest of his birthday with his teammates and friends.
He was pleasantly surprised to see that Hadley had accepted his invitation. He really wanted to make a point to talk to her tonight. Hopefully she would talk back.
“Go on and talk to him” Katy said
“I will later” Hadley said
Hadley couldn’t help but look at him but she made sure she was far enough away so that he wouldn’t notice all the while he kept stealing glances at her as well.
It was starting to get dark and the torches were glowing and a fire had been started off in the back yard. Hadley walked outside and down to the dock. She loved the way it looked around here and really just wanted to admire it quietly for a little bit.
Sidney saw her walk away from the party and down to the dock and sit down looking out on to the water. One of his favorite things to do around here..so he headed down to the dock to join her figuring that it was the perfect time to try and talk to her to.
“Having a good time” he asked as he sat down beside her.
“Yes it is beautiful out here so I figured I would come out here and enjoy it for a bit, who knows who when I’ll get back up here.”
“Well your welcome up here anytime” he said.
“Well that is nice of you considering, thank you” Hadley said.
“I figure you had your reasons for that, maybe one day you’ll tell me” he said looking right into her eyes.
“I could tell you right now if you would like, that way you don’t think I’m totally crazy…well hopefully.” she said back not really believing that she was willing to be this open with him when she could barely hold a conversation with hime otherwise.
I moved out to Pittsburgh with my boyfriend Felix” she said and he couldn’t help but be a little disappointed.
He started to say something but Hadley continued. “About a month after we got here he decided he didn’t want to be with me anymore…broke my heart, kicked me out. He was my everything, the only person I had and I loved him with everything. Thank Goodness for Katy… she helped me a lot and I moved in with her. So there you have it, I know it doesn’t explain the way I left that way the night at the club and you might think that I’m stupid but...” but it was Sidney’s turn to stop her from talking.
“No, I don’t think that you are stupid at all and I know exactly what you mean. But just so you know not all guys are like Felix, in fact I would say Felix is quite possibly one of the stupidest people around if he couldn’t see he had a great thing going” he told her. He didn't care about how serious the conversation was because they were actually having a conversation.
The only thing she could do was look at him and smile. She knew she was starting to have feelings for him but she couldn’t happen or could she. Just in that small conversation she could tell that he was different from anyone she had known before.
Just then Max came running up to them….
“HEY SID WE NEED YOUR HELP…” but he stopped when he saw that Sidney was talking to
Hadley… the kid hadn’t stopped talking about her since the night at diesel
“O Shit I’m sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt” he said.
“No Max its fine I am actually going to head back inside. Thanks for the talk Sidney. O next talk we have you are gonna have to explain this whole stanley cup thing to me, I don't get it” she said as she bent down and kissed him on the cheek much to the surprise and delight of Sidney and even herself but she didn’t care at that moment.
Hadley walked away back toward the house and all Sidney could do was look and laugh a little at her last comment with Max but still smiled. He was making progress. He really was intrigued by her and he knew some of the basics and now knew her a little bit better. He still wanted more. He knew she was the perfect girl for him now he knew why she had acted the way she did now he just had to convince her to take a chance…that he wasn’t Felix and more importantly he was the guy for her.

Chapter 7
This time she had nowhere to run. It was like de javu; they looked at each other and again smiled at her but that smile that had kept her attention most of last night was a lot smaller. Hadley couldn't’t help but feel a bit guilty. From what Katy had told her earlier every girl wanted to be with this guy and she could see why. But she kept telling herself that she couldn't do it, she couldn't put herself out there.
-----Sidney’s POV -----
“Dude don’t scare her off again” Max who couldn't’t help but joke with me and it so only I could hear as he walked past him toward the food.
“Not funny Talbo.” I said as he plopped down on to the couch.
Sure he was slightly embarrassed about last night but he wasn't stupid he knew something happened to her to make her do that. Even after she had left last night he couldn't stop thinking about her he had even walked up and started asking Katy questions about her, but she wouldn’t give anything other than general information. Katy had told him that if he wanted to know so bad that he was going to have find out himself….but how in the hell would he be able to do that.
He was lost in his own thoughts until a jalapeno pepper was thrown at him.
“Welcome back buddy, whatcha thinking about” Jordan asked.
“Nothing just thinking.” I returned.
“Dude just try and say hi to her, she had nowhere to run to this time.”
“I don’t need to make her feel uncomfortable in her own place.” I simply said back
“Well dude, you’re never going to know if you don’t try” Jordan said.
He knows something he just won’t tell me…damn him. O well here goes nothing. I got up off of the couch and grabbed and empty cup so at least I have an excuse to get closer to her because I’m pretty sure she hasn’t moved since I got here with the guys.
___________________
Hadley had decided she was just going to hang back and try to keep her mind clear. She was standing at the counter where the drinks were so people were coming up every now and then making small talk and she was doing the same back. These guys were pretty cool she decided and was looking forward to making friends with some of them. For the second time in as many
hours she felt like someone was looking at her.
“Hi, I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable last night, I am really sorry if I ruined your night out.” Sidney said not knowing what else to say.
Hadley looked at him for a moment seriously thinking about running again but she couldn’t do that again, he seemed like a nice guy. But unfortunately the door bell rang. She looked around for Katy because she finally was going to say something back to him but saw that she was all over Jordan, which meant she had to answer the door.
“Excuse me I have to get that” not what she wanted to say she kind of actually wanted to be introduced and her do the same thing but she was now officially playing host. She went to the door and opened it to see a group of girls.
Hadley must have looked lost because before she could say anything a voice chimed in. “Hi, I’m Vero I am Marc-Andre’s girlfriend, your roommate Katy invited all of us over” she said and extended her hand.
“O yes of-course come on in, I’m Hadley, if you need anything let me know” she said as she shook Vero’s hand and let the others in.
------Hadley’s POV -----------
After I closed the door she turned around to go back to the counter where I had left Sidney only to find he had moved. I hated that I about got the guts to say something and it was gone. He had made his way back to his spot with the guys on the couch. I just sighed and made my way back to the counter.
“Hi again,” I looked up to see Vero pouring herself a drink.
“Hi, I’m sorry about earlier I thought that everyone was already here, I should have known that these guys would have girlfriends who would want to be here to.”
“O it’s not a problem I would have done the same thing if a bunch of random girls would have shown up at my door, and considering who these guys are I am personally glad that you were a little hesitant.”
I just nodded at what she was saying and before I even realized what I was saying I was asking questions about Sidney even though I have yet to have an actual conversation with him. While I was asking the questions Vero was smiling as she was answering them. I then surprised myself even more with my next question.
“Does he have a girlfriend?”
After everyone had left that night Hadley was sitting on the couch watching a movie alone. She had gotten used to this over the past few weeks and it really didn’t bother her because she loved movies but tonight she couldn’t focus. First of all she couldn’t believe that she had actually asked if he had a girlfriend but even more than that she was focusing on the answer that Vero had given her. By the way it was a no. After Vero had told her of course she was asked if she was interested and she said no. She knew that Vero didn’t believe her now she just hoped that the conversation didn’t get back to Sidney seeing as they never had an actual conversation.

Chapter 6
Thanks for all the comments....
That night Hadley fell asleep on the couch before Katy got home but even as she slept that face kept creeping back into her head. Before she knew it she was being shaken awake.
“What the hell” Hadley said as she rubbed her eyes to actually try and wake up. At the same time she realized where she had been sleeping.
“God last night was real” she moaned and threw her head into the pillow.
“Yeah last night was real…and I can safely say you are the only person in all of Pittsburgh who would walk away from him..” Katy simply said
“ I don’t even know who that was Katy, he saw me when we walked into the room with Jordan, oh by the way how did that go?” Hadley asked
“Don’t even try and change the subject..what happened?” Katy returned “We can talk about me later.”
“Nothing happened…remember I left I still don’t know who he is. I just panicked I couldn’t stop thinking about his face and when you pointed over and he was there I …don’t know I had to get out of there.”
“He was just going to introduce himself Hadley” Katy told her automatcially knowing what was happening. “Its ok if you were attracted to him almost everyone is…but for him to come up to you well that means something, Hadley according to Jordan he doesn’t do that with everyone.”
“Well I’m still trying to figure out why I am the only person who will walk away from him? Who is he and why is he so important.”
“Wow for someone who loves sports like yourself, you are clueless….that was SIDNEY CROSBY CAPTIN OF THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS.” Katy emphasized the last part of her statement.
“Well I don’t watch hockey…I know I know you are going to change that.” Hadley laughed for the first time since last night.
“Ummm yea,Hockey is Pittsburgh just as much as the Steelers.” Katy said but as she said this she saw this look in Hadley’s eyes…
“You are still thinking about him?” she simply said
“I cant help it, I am not going to lie he was georgous…Im not dead. BUT I can’t do it Katy. I am never putting myself in that postion again..I just can’t. Some people are just meant to be alone, and I am one of them.” Hadley told Katy
“Your wrong Hadley everyone deserves to be happy especially you don’t let Felix run the rest of your life…he is gone…let yourself be happy.” Katy said as she walked away. “ Oh by the way Jordan asked me to be his girlfriend, ofcourse I said yes, I also invited him and some of the guys over this afternoon to hang out.”
“Katy I made a fool of myself I can’t.” Hadley moaned
“Oh yes you can…come on Hadley it wont be that bad. None of them will mention anything…I’ll make sure of it”
“FINE YOU BETTER BE RIGHT”
Both of the them got into the shower to get ready for what would be another humilating day according to Hadley. Katy was ready and started getting everything else ready. Hadley on the other hand spent a lot of time getting ready which was unusual for her but since the first impression was shot to hell she had to make a good second impression. She kept remembering what Katy had told her a couple of weeks ago and reclaim her life as an independent person who didnt have to depend on anyone.
Hopefully she could start over with these guys…but if Sidney was going to be there she was sure her plan would fail miserably because she knew that face would be just as distracting as it was last night. Not mention reclaiming her life did not include a relationship.
Hadley walked out of her bedroom just as the doorbell rang.
Here we go she thought as Katy looked to make sure Hadley hadnt snuck out the window to get away.
"Hey guys come on in" Katy said.
Hadley was in the kitchen getting snacks ready as she walked out and her hopes were gone because the first thing she saw was that face...looking right back at her.

Chapter 5
*** Ive decided to throw a little POV in there starting this chapter...hope everyone enjoys it***
-------Hadley's POV --------
God his face was....perfect. I knew I was probably staring but I just couldn't help it. I didn't know what was happening. I was positive that I looked like an idiot still just standing in the same spot. Time seemed to be going by so slow...or at least it was to me. Finally I managed to smile back in his direction but i was terrified.
The only thing I could think was I shouldn't be like this just a few weeks ago my world was turned upside down, my heart was ripped out and stomped on. I should be focusing on putting the rest of my life back together not admiring this face and thinking who he is and what he is about; like I am doing. There has be be something really wrong with my head and possibly my heart...especially because it is only a face.
---------------
Hadley finally made it over to the bar. She was definitely going to need another drink.
"Can I get a shot of Jack please" she asked the bartender.
"Woah there girl. what's wrong" Katy asked when she saw Hadley down the shot.
"Nothing I just needed something a bit stronger." Hadley replied shaking her head as it burned down her throat.
"Are you sure?" Katy and Jordan asked at the same time. Hadley just nodded back at them. Not wanting to put a damper on Katy's night with Jordan they really seemed to hit it off...at least one of them deserved to be happy.
---------Katy's POV -----------
I was having a great time, Jordan was amazing, Sure I knew he was a Pens player. Who didn't know who he was or the rest of the guys for that matter. But that didn't matter about a minute after I had started talking to him, I could have cared less who he was and what he did.
Hadley looked like she was having a great time and that is all I really wanted. That was until I saw Sidney Crosby smile at her. She looked like a deer in headlight and it wasn't because she knew who he was because she honestly had no clue how important he was around here. I honestly don't know what is going through her mind but she composed her self or so I thought and walked toward the bar where Jordan and I were standing. She immediately took a shot of Jack which she only does on occasion when her mind is racing so I asked if she was ok and she said yes so I guess I'll have to take her word for it.
Awhile later Jordon and I had made our way to the dance floor and Hadley was still just standing there I have no clue what happened but it all started when he looked her way. All of the sudden I freak a bit because I see him walking toward the bar where Hadley is off in her own little world. Jordan saw this too but told me not to worry "Sid's a great guy" was all he said and I just looked at him and then back at Hadley.
-------------
"Jack and coke" a voice told the bartender and then looked right at her, but Hadley really didn't pay attention she was in her own little world still thinking about that face.
She started to get that feeling that someone was looking at her. She saw Katy pointing over to her right side so she turned to look over and that face was there looking her right in the eyes.
"Hi... I'm Si......" but he didn't get to finish
Hadley panicked and walked away to the door and leaving as fast as possible. Leaving Katy with her mouth hanging open, him stunned and the rest of the room staring in his direction...
She didn't stop running until she found she was back at the apartment...went in and fell on the couch.

Chapter 4
This was going to be Hadley's first night out since Felix had broken things off, to say she was nervous was an understatement but she knew chickening out out was not going to be an option.
When Katy and Hadley reached the club door they flashed their ids and were able to get right in. They had gone early because according to Katy Diesel was popular and she didn't want to fight with the line.
"Promise me you will try to have a good time tonight." Kay said to Katy as Hadley was scoping out the club.
"Hadley just don't worry about him you look hot"
"She's right you know" some random guy said to Hadley and she still stood in her same spot.
"I'm not interested..." and walked to the bar; if she was going to make it through the night she was going to need a drink good thing she was 23.
A few drinks later and Hadley was actually letting loose a little bit. Katy have been talking to this blond guy at the bar for awhile, he had the prettiest face Hadley had ever seen.
"Earth to Hadley..." Katy ripped her out of her thoughts.
"What?" Hadley asked
"Come on were going to VIP" Katy said with the biggest smile. Before Hadley could even say anything Katy started again.
"His name is Jordon, he plays for the pens and I really really like him but I told him that I'm not going anywhere without you" she said with a pleading look on her face.
"Ok Katy lets go." Hadley said as she was now being pulled toward the VIP area upstairs where Jordan was waiting.
"God Katy think I could keep my arm." Hadley laughed out as they approached.
" Hi, I'm Jordan." "Hadley, nice to meet you" she said shaking his hand.
"Welcome to the VIP" he said opening the door.
"OMG this so fucking exciting " Katy said and walked with Jordan to the bar.
Hadley quietly followed not knowing anyone and she felt suddenly shy. She was huge sports person but never hockey even though Felix loved it. he went crazy won the championship...no what was it called right it was the cup.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she saw his face. "Oh m god" she thought out loud to herself when he looked up and smiled at her... Jordon no longer had the prettiest face she had ever seen.

As I was writing
I realized that I never gave a timeline.... this happen after the pens won the cup (that way it will really be fiction and its too hard to go back in time for me so).... that makes hadley 23 (took her an extra year to graduate bc of other things that happened im sure they will come out in the story somehow but not quite yet) bc her birthday is in april...and sid will be turning 22....
hopefully chapter 4 will be done soon!!!!
